FMA - Alphonse Elric

One of my favorite characters in the FMA world, if not the fav! Alphonse "Al" Elric, in his armor form, after his brother bound his soul/spirit to the armor.

I've noticed that one of the themes of stories that I like is the Beauty and the Beast theme. In some stories, this theme is obvious, like the Phantom of the Opera. But it is more subtle in FMA.

You could consider Al to be both the Beauty and the Beast of FMA. Of the two brothers, he is more stable and more kind and gentle, like Beauty. But like the Beast he is cursed to live in a body not his own, and he seeks a way to restore his human flesh and blood body. (His brother Ed also is cursed from their attempt at human alchemy, and seeks to restore his own arm and leg, but he still has a largely flesh and blood body, so his situation isn't quite as poignant as Al's situation.) *sniff*
